As a blogger how often do you sit down to write your blog goals down. This blogger shares her monthly blog goals and goes over the previous months goals.

Hey y’all, for the foreseeable future I will be writing monthly blog goals and reviews. I will be publishing every first week of the month . I’m doing this because I am trying to hold myself accountable and I thought I could share with other bloggers. Plus, It’s so important to have goals otherwise you aimlessly walk through life. All throughout high school and college I had a planner, I wrote my assignments and my to-dos, and daily goals. And to be honest, if I don’t have daily, weekly, or monthly goals I pretty much fall apart. Have goals so you can have a target to shoot for.

This was an interesting month. I set out to do a few things less than I normally try to do. I set my expectations low so that I could aim at a realistic level. Here are a few of the latest happening in January. You can go back here and see what my blog goals were for January.

January Recap: Wins:

This month I had 3 people contact me through my website for guest post opportunities. Which was quite shocking to me. I hardly feel like a real blogger at times, even though I’m making a little income from blogging and have written about 20 posts. it’s always interesting to find out who’s been reading your blog. I was able to publish one of my guest poster’s here. And will be publishing another sometime soon.

Also, another HUGE win in my books, my favorite blogger of all time, the blogger who inspired me to start blogging emailed me a very encouraging detailed message. I was thrilled to say the least. Oh, and she took it upon herself to add me as a contributor to one her Pinterest group boards (yes!!!)!

Also, I finally started working on my newsletter, something I wasn’t even expecting to work on. I found a company that I really like called, Constant Contact. After I found them on the internet and signed up for more info, I got a personal call from them within a few hours (talk about being a proactive company!). But, I love it, it shows initiative. I talked to a representative and he answered all my questions and concerns, 30 minutes later I was sold. And I consider myself quite a skeptic. Their price fits perfectly with my budget and they have a free trial in case you don’t want to bite the bullet yet. They have plugins for wordpress, Facebook, and they offer a text-to-sign up page as well (that makes me feel fancy). So, a newsletter will be coming out soon!

Pinterest.

I haven’t been keeping track on exactly how many followers I have gained every month, but I will start this month. I currently have 360. Last month I had about 330 followers, so although it’s not much, it’s still forward motion and I am happy with that progress! I was also added to 3 NEW group boards this month as a contributor! Yay!

Instagram:

I currently 390 followers. But, instagram is constantly fluctuating! There are so many people who play games of following you and then unfollowing you it’s just really annoying. But, this is another avenue I’d like to add to my list of reviews. Gaining more followers on both Instagram and Pinterest because those are my most utilized social media sites aside form my blog.

Facebook:

I gained about a 100- and something new followers on Facebook, for a total of 257 followers, which is great. But, I don’t really like using my Facebook “page”. I feel like the algorithms don’t make it worth it, (anybody else feel that way?) but I will continue using it for the time being.

Page views:

789, significantly less than previous months.

Overall thoughts: for my January goals I set out for more page views and to add a policy disclosure for my website. Well I did finally add the disclosure/policy page to my site, but I haven’t added anything else on it, yet. That still counts right? So, there are a few reasons this month that my page views plummeted. I haven’t written as many posts this month as I should have, in fact I only wrote 2! Yikes, gotta do better.

I promised myself in December and January that I was going to let go of my Etsy so that my time wasn’t being spilt in 2 different directions. I wanted to solely focus on my blog. Welp, that didn’t go so well, which is another reason I believe my blog suffered slightly. I have actually been busy making new items for my shop  and currently  in the process of rebranding my etsy. I am going in a new direction and have decided to stop selling reusable items, only because I wanted to try something new. Something I’ve been wanting and saying i was going to do for the past year. Soon, I tried letting go of my Etsy, but I just can’t yet.

I plan on making handbags, wristlets, and zipper pouches.

I’ve had a lot of fun making reusable items, and i still make them for my family, but i wanted to try something new and go in a different direction for a little bit.

February goals:

Since the month of February is almost half way finished, I will keep this relatively short. As far as using numeric values to see growth, I am  hoping to surpass 400 followers on my instagram. The rest of my pages; Pinterest and Facebook, the numeric value doesn’t matter much as long as I gain a few more followers. On February  27th, I am hoping to open my etsy shop back up. ALSO, I am writing a complete beginners guide to couponing series, so stay tuned for that. I will be publishing that next week! So, those are my happenings for the month of January and February, see you guys back next month.
