March blog traffic and April goals.

Hey y’all, this month I will be going over my March blog traffic and April goals. I’m doing this because I am trying to hold myself accountable and I thought I could share with other bloggers. Plus, It’s so important to have goals otherwise you aimlessly walk through life. All throughout high school and college I had a planner, I wrote my assignments and my to-dos, and daily goals. And to be honest, if I don’t have daily, weekly, or monthly goals I pretty much fall apart. Have goals so you can have a target to shoot for.

SO, you will notice for about 5 days in my google analytics I had ZERO page views. Well, during that time I was installing and deleting lots of plugins… I didn’t realize it until a few days later when I checked my analytics…but I had deleted a very important plugin that tracked my page view analytics. Opps! If it had not been for that, I’m pretty sure I would have been over 1,500 page views. Live and learn.

Y’all, my Facebook page following soared this month, and my Pinterest collabs were off the charts for march. You guys, join different blogging Facebook groups, that’s where all the Pinterest collaborators hang!

What I did in March:

So, March has been one of my best months in terms of my blog traffic and social media follower gains. But, I will say April is predicting to be a better month in terms of page views.

I was contacted by Daily Goodie Box in February, received my package in March and wrote a post about my experience with the company. If you’re a blogger I highly suggest them!

I’ve been really working on branding my Instagram this month. I’ve chosen to go with light and bright colors for my pictures and I believe it’s helping my page following.

I choose not play the “Follow/unfollow” game so many Instagram-ers play to get more followers. If I follow you its because I like you not because I’m playing with you.

As you can see, I am still working on my email list. Although, I only have 5 subscribers, it’s a far-cry from where I started in December! At the time, I had no knowledge of email lists, email list companies. I can only go up from here. Unless someone unsubscribes, ha.

In March I promoted the heck out of my blog and really made an effort into working on my blog (i.e., Better graphics, SEO, promoting, consistent posting). I also enrolled in a class that has helped me delve deeper with my blog, I switched my newsletter site from Constant Contact to MailerLite. I also purchased a subscription to get better graphics for my posts/social media.

I’ve heard horror stories of people using free pictures websites and then getting in huge legal trouble because those pictures had actually been copyrighted, but they didn’t know! Ya know, lots of those sites say, free for commercial use, and yada yada… but, you never really, truly know.

Ahh, I wanted to go with something that was guaranteed to be safe and I wanted graphics that flowed with my brand seamlessly. So, I went ahead and purchased a subscription plan to a great feminine graphic site. I’m hoping by next month I will have all my older post graphics updated.

If you’ve been staying up-to-date with my “blog goals” segment of my blog, then you will know how long its taken me to finally get my newsletter down. I was dragging my feet for the longest time. It’s so much work to think about what I will be writing in my newsletter and setting it up in general.
But, I am actually pretty confident in it. I added a pop- up- subscription box to my site, So whenever someone is getting ready to leave the site this picture is displayed on their screen.
I haven’t actually sent out a newsletter yet, but its coming yall. Just trying to figure out some freebies and incentives to add so than I can get some more subscribers.

To do’s for April:

My April to-do will consist of me going back and redoing older posts and putting better graphics up.and going back

Working on my email list, creating freebies and incentives for those who subscribe to my email newsletter.

I’m keeping it short and sweet this month (April). I’m learning its better not to overwhelm myself with a billion different things. Focus on 1 or 2 goals and more than likely you will achieve them and more!

How are you blogging mama’s doing this month? I’d love to hear you your blog stats!:)
