Just recently my husband and I discussed my desire to become a full time working mom and what I must do to achieve this. Although, this has been a desire of mine for quite some time, I finally felt confident enough in my endeavors to make it a possibility. First, I am a wife and mother, but I also have an Etsy shop where I sell items I have sewn, crafted, and or re-purposed. I really enjoy making green- environmentally friendly products the most. My other job is blogging, although I would not consider myself full time in this arena, I am slowly working my way there.

The key to maintaining balance sanity, my key to life, my greatest secret in getting my crap together.

Get a planner and get on a schedule!

All throughout high school and college I had lived my life through planners and schedules. But when I  got married and had my daughter I kind of just went with the flow of things, merely blowing in the wind in whatever direction the day would take me. but that was not working, my life was in shambles and something needed to change.

*Go to the store and buy a planner! I recommend a small daily planner to keep track of a few important tasks. Buy whatever works for you, I personally love smaller planners that I can throw in my purse or diaper bag, I usually pair this with a cute mini binder. I’m obsessed with mini binders! I am a hard-copy, paper and pen type of girl, but I know some of you maybe be more technical, if that is the case open up a planner online or create one on your phone, do what works for your life.

Next, and probably more important than your planner,,,

Create a daily schedule!

I cannot stress this enough, life waits for no one, seize the day and get your crap together by utilizing a planner and creating a daily schedule.what does this schedule look like for you? Take 30 mins and seriously jot down your day and then add other tasks that you may need to get done daily. For me I must put in at LEAST an hour a day dedicated to my Etsy shop and blog. Whether that be editing posts, brainstorming and creating posts, advertising, taking and editing pictures. I must do this an hour a day.

For the longest time I did not have a set in stone schedule. I knew the things i needed to get done, I didn’t need a schedule, especially dealing with the unpredictability of raising a toddler. Or so I thought…  In my defiance to create a written schedule for myself, my husband created a schedule for me, he knew my life didn’t function well without one. so without my consent he created a schedule for me. I pouted and wined whined, I didn’t need him to do that for me, I had everything figured out. SO after trying to follow what I felt was a totally unreasonable schedule, ha! I ended up creating my own daily schedule.

Maintaining balance and your sanity as a wife, mom, and work at home mom can be challenging, but the way you can keep it all together is by planning and scheduling your daily activities.

Psalm 128:2 You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.
